International Fabulous Flats™ Tandoori Naan a Superstar!

Our naan were named "Best New Food Product in the US" by prestigious food magazine.

Orlando, FLA – Within one month of their national launch, FGF Brands' authentic, tandoor-baked naan were crowned "Best New Retail Food Product in the US" by the food industry's leading magazine, Prepared Foods.

Prepared Foods and Ventura Foods cosponsor the Spirit of Innovation Awards, an industry effort to identify the nation's best new retail and foodservice products. The annual ceremony is the equivalent of Hollywood's Oscar®  night -- peer recognition for a stellar performance.

In the case of FGF Brands, the performance was a year-long race to invent a recipe for naan, India's classic flatbread made with ghee (clarified butter) and then to invent a commercial tandoor oven in which to make the flatbreads.

Typically, the only place you find naan is at an Indian restaurant where trained chefs make flatbreads on the vertical wall of a charcoal-fired tandoor oven, one by one.

FGF Brands' cofounders, Sam Ajmera and Jim White, knew that in order to commercially make naan, they would first have to invent, blueprint and build the world's first continuous tandoor oven, enabling them to bake their authentic flatbreads at a blisteringly hot 1200°F degrees.

The bakery team succeeded beyond its wildest dreams and today, FGF Brands bakes more than 1 million hand-stretched, all-natural naan every week, all of them perfectly charred, and modestly perfumed with a hint of smoke.

International Fabulous Flats™ Tandoori Naan is the first commercial flatbread, which FGF Brands has brought to market. On the horizon are flatbreads from other cultures and nations.

Without spilling too many corporate secrets, the bakery's next new ethnic flatbread will be an authentic Italian-style pizza crust, which like the naan, will be all-natural, hand-stretched, preservative-free, trans fat-free and made with premium ingredients that are used back home where the flatbread originates.

Before long, the bakery envisions that there will be small "Flatbread Centers" in grocery stores and independent retailers across the continent, offering a line of diverse, flavorful, all-natural flatbreads under the International Fabulous Flats™™ banner.

"Our goal is to bring a line of tasty flatbreads to the market – all of them all-natural, authentic and, above all, unboring!" says bakery cofounder White.

It looks like the bakery is on its way to achieving the goal.
